A family-owned business since 1947, Stewart Filmscreen maintains the highest standards in screen design, craftsmanship, and customer service.

There is a lot that goes in to choosing the right projection screen: things like ambient lighting, viewing angles, projector type. Based on years of experience, Stewart Filmscreen has the knowledge to create screens that work in virtually any environment. Our experts at Blue Smoke Entertainment Systems can help you navigate the seemingly complex world of screen choice, and we will work closely with the Stewart Filmscreen team to make sure you are satisfied.

The team building your screen is made up of the same craftsman who are building screens for Mission Control (NASA), flight simulators, AMC theaters, “Circle vision” for Disney’s EPCOT Center, Disney California Adventure, special effect screens for Lucasfilm, and more. Even the home of Oscars®, the state-of-the-art Kodak Theater in Hollywood, uses Stewart screens. Only Stewart Filmscreen has the capabilities to build custom projection screen products for these unique projects.

AcoustiMask

There are so many choices offered by Stewart Filmscreen, we simply can't list them all here. Many of our customers are particularly interested in the AcoustiMask screen, which is designed to be the most acoustically transparent and effective on the market while still maintaining Stewart's high standards for visual quality.

When you want to have a screen that spans the width of the theater, not only is the center channel placed behind the screen, but the left and right speakers will need to be behind the screen, as well. With most screens, the audio quality of the system will be compromised and inconsistent. (Did you know that the quality of sound will change dramatically depending on what image format your movie or TV program is played back in?)

  • AcoustiMask now transmits more sound, yet blocks more light with its deeper black design
  • The AcoustiMask’s round profile leading edges on the masking panels reduce parallel sonic reflections
  • Stewart optimized the system to the typical separation distance between the masking system and their MicroPerf screen materials
  • The AcoustiMask allows installers to now place the center, right and left speakers behind the screen without fear of acoustical disturbance.
